Thanksgiving
As I write this, my husband, daughter and I are preparing to go visit my son for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to several days of fun and time together with my son and several friends. We'll also take in some entertainment and hopefully, even get in a few photos.
We have had a fairly hectic month. My husband and I spent five days in San Antonio for a convention. While he attended all the sessions and educational seminars, my sister-in-law and I manned a silent auction. With over 100 items that had to be set up, put away once and moved to a second location, we were kept very busy. She was an incredible worker though and on top of it all, we had fun together. The time passed swiftly and we raised money for a great cause - the Shriner's Children's Burn Hospital. We were honored for the opportunity to do this.
I've had a cold for the last week. It really isn't fair that "just a cold" makes one feel so rotten. It's hard to justify how little I have actually accomplished in the last week. But, I think I am finally improving. At least occasionally, I get something done now.
Fall finally arrived in Texas. These photos show some of its effects.
My dog enjoys this weather most of all. He is feisty and exuberant every morning once it begins to turn colder. And we tease him about staying awake more during the day in the fall and winter than he does in the summer.
And I close with the promise that in a few days, I'll post a short video clip that should make your smile. Thanksgiving blessings to all. More than eating too much and watching football games and such, let this be a time to recognize and truly give thanks for all the blessings in our lives.
